Shipboard Uniform: Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine

The shipboard uniform is an alternative uniform available to be worn for light duty, watch standing, or while performing organizational duties that would otherwise require a canon uniform or convention minimum. This uniform may be worn by all ranks and should be considered on par with the working uniform and convention minimum.

Uniform

Sweater

All ranks will wear a navy blue, "GI" or "Commando" style, military sweater. Regardless of style chosen, the sweater must have epaulets as well as fabric reinforcement patches about the shoulders and elbows.

Undershirt

Personnel in the grades of C-21 through C-23 may wear a white, close fitting, mock turtleneck or a white, mandarin collar, dress shirt. The dress shirt may be worn open or closed at the neck.

Trousers

Personnel in the grades of C-21 through C-23 will wear navy blue uniform trousers with a navy blue uniform belt and a gold military friction buckle. The trousers are worn un-bloused with black, low-topped, boots or black, military style, low quarters.

Name Badge

Personnel in the grades of C-21 through C-23 will wear a flight suit style name badge on the left breast. The name badge should be constructed from navy blue, Velcro backed, fabric and have a black merrowed edge. The name badge features the wearers LAST NAME, FIRST INITIAL, and RANK embroidered in gold. As Crown appointees, independent of the Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine hierarchy, the name badge of these personnel, when wearing RMMM uniforms, will feature a crown, embroidered in gold, rather than any of the normal departmental insignia.

Rank Insignia

Personnel in the grades of C-21 through C-23 will wear navy blue, slip on, soft shoulder loops on each epaulet. As Crown appointees, independent of the Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine hierarchy, these personnel, when wearing RMMM uniforms, will display a crown, embroidered in gold, rather than any of the normal departmental insignia. The shoulder loops will feature the wearers rank stripes in gold. In the interest of space, the rank stripes should be scaled appropriate to the size of the shoulder loop.

Wearing of Arms

If authorized by company leadership to carry personal arms, a plain black, tactical style, gun belt may be worn with a standard Manticoran military sidearm and its accompanying drop leg holster. The belt should be worn at the same location as the trouser or BDU belt, and should be covered by the sweater.
