Welcome to the Qualification Badge Manual of The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association (TRMN).
The TRMN’s Space Warfare Pin is modeled roughly on the United States Navy’s Surface Warfare insignia. This metal pin is worn by commissioned officers of the USN to indicate that they have achieved certain qualifications, such as officer of the deck, small boat officer, combat information center officer, shipboard engineering, damage control, and quality maintenance. It is a requirement for further advancement in line officers. The Space Warfare Pin comes in two varieties: a gold one for officers
and a silver one for enlisted personnel.

Qualification badges are earned due to a specific event occurring or a specific milestone being reached. TRMN, as an organization, has three main sets of qualification badges. These are:
• Specific Service – i.e. Hyper Command Stars
• Educational – Space Warfare and Combat Action Badges
• Combination – Aerospace Wings

As with all awards of TRMN, it is requested that you wear these with the regulations prescribed in this manual. Part of the fun of an organization such as TRMN are the many opportunities you have to earn awards and the new information you can learn while doing so. It is also important that our leaders lead by example, so I myself worked hard during 2017 and the early part of 2018 to earn my Space Warfare Pin, and greatly enjoyed doing so.

All of the qualification badges that follow hereafter are the most current and up to date as of the printing of the manual. A few things to note regarding these badges: The current availability of badges will depend on what BuSup has in inventory. This will vary from time to time, depending on if we have added new ones or are awaiting a resupply of the older ones.
Both RMN and RMMC enlisted wear the same pin. Officers may wear the ESWP only provided it was earned and awarded while they were enlisted, and only until they have completed the requirements for the OSWP. The ESWP is worn plain when first awarded. On being transferred to another unit, a numeral 2 is affixed to the center of the pin, indicating a second deployment. A third deployment is indicated by a numeral 3; 4 and more deployments display a numeral 4. Enlisted of the RMN who have been awarded the ESWP and who subsequently transfer to the RMMC may continue to wear the ESWP until such time as they achieve the RMMC ESWP qualifications, and vice-versa.Terminology<br>

Finally, we will update this manual when changes are made to either the qualification badge criteria or when a new qualification badge is added. In the time between manual revisions, Admiralty Orders will fill in for the updates as needed.
