HMS Phantom (CLAC-89) was a Minotaur-class LAC Carrier within Third Fleet. Commanded by CAPTJG Karen Haggerty, RMN, Phantom claimed St. Petersburg, Florida as her charter city, but claimed the whole American state of Florida as its area of operations.
History
Phantom was brought into commission on 09 July 2011, commanded by CAPTJG Renee Haggerty. There was no official BuShips Directive; the commissioning was referenced in the annual report by then-LCDR Anne Zecca, Director of Membership Operations in August 2011. This ship was the first ship in Third Fleet, although it ceased being active after 2012, so HMS Chaos is often claimed as being the actual ship from which the fleet expanded from.
After failing to test up to their ranks, the Phantom was decommissioned on 30 November 2016, as part of the greater effort by the Third Space Lord to enforce the regulations. Since Phantom was created before ship names were standardized, it was decided that the name be stricken from the rolls, in order to avoid confusion with BatCruRon 39's HMS Phantom in the Czech Republic.
