BuShips Directive 2401-01 was issued 05 January 2024 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive decommissions GNS Covington (CLAC-01).

Re:	Decommissioning of GNS Covington (CLAC-01) (BuShips Directive 2401-01)

Captain Maybright:

Effective as of 0001 Hours on 5 January 2024, GNS Covington (CLAC-01) is to immediately stand down all present assignments and/or missions and is subsequently ordered to return to Grayson for decommissioning and crew transfer.

Upon arrival, you and your crew shall make GNS Covington (CLAC-01) ready in all respects for decommissioning: strike the colors and secure the watch. You are further ordered to relinquish command of GNS Covington (CLAC-01)) to the Bureau of Ships in the person of CDR David Oliver Kling, RMN, who shall hold temporary command for the duration of the voyage to Blackbird Station for processing and inspection.

Upon completing inspection and decommissioning, GNS Covington (CLAC-01) is to be permanently removed from Active Reserves. Her Name, Colors, and Registry shall be placed in the charge of the Office of the High Admiral, on behalf of the Protector.

The following personnel are hereby transferred to HMSS Hephaestus to await further assignment:
