In the Honorverse canon, the Sphinx Forestry Commission (abbrev. SFC) is the Manticoran agency responsible for overseeing and protecting the natural flora and fauna of the planet Sphinx, especially treecats.
In The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN), the SFC is the component devoted to youth members. Adult SFC members provide leadership for the youth members.

The head of the SFC is the Commissioner, who is a member of the Royal Council.
Cadet Ranger ranks
In TRMN, a Youth Member is defined as any member 17 or younger. All Youth Members are automatically placed in the Sphinx Forestry Commission in one of four Cadet Ranger Ranks based on age:[1]
- Cadet Ranger 1: 5 to 9 years
- Cadet Ranger 2: 9 to 13 years
- Cadet Ranger 3: 13 to 16 years
- Senior Cadet Ranger: 16 to 18 years
