Re: Ship and Echelon Crests (ND 17JUN-02)

As of the date of this Order, by my hand, and by the authority of the Sovereign, Queen of Manticore, Elizabeth III, I hereby direct that the following shall be in place regarding the design of Ship and Echelon Crests:

1. All ships and echelons may request a crest be designed, created, and/or approved by the Bureau of Communications or request any individual to design a crest to be submitted for approval to the Bureau of Communications provided the correct crest blank has been used and all paperwork required by the Bureau of Communications has been provided;

2. Once a crest has been designed and approved by the Bureau or Communications for the ship or echelon, that crest will always remain the crest for the ship or echelon in question, regardless of future recommissioning;

3. A ship or echelon may not redesign or change a crest once it has a crest which has been approved by the Bureau of Communications except in the case of a ship being named to the RMN List of Honor, in which the ship is authorized to have the border changed from silver to a gold rope style.

4. It will be the responsibility of the Ship’s Commanding Officer and its Command Triad to verify, through the Bureau of Communications, that no crest exists for a ship BEFORE they commission a crest to be created for their ship.

This order made under my hand will be effective 0001 hours 19-JUNE-17.

Honour of the Queen!

Issued by:
Lord Sir John Roberts, GCE, SC, OR, CGM, CBM
Fleet Admiral of the Red
First Space Lord
First Earl, New Mecklenberg
