BuShips Directive 2002-06 was issued on 20 February 2020 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive awards the Royal Unit Citation for Gallantry to HMS Guadalcanal (LPH-02).

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Grand Alliance, and various civilian programs,
HMS Guadalcanal (LPH-02), for sustained efforts over the year of 2019, including but not limited to substantial fundraising efforts, maintaining a strong presence at conventions, and the initiative to pool together and rally around a crew member in need, is under authority granted by the First Space Lord, hereby awarded the Royal Unit Citation for Gallantry. The sustained actions of HMS Guadalcanal showed unit cohesion, and self-initiated efforts of individuals aboard to bring honor to The Royal Manticoran Navy, and her sub-components.
May their efforts continue, and their exploits during the year of 2019 be strong examples for others to follow.
