''Heracles'' was first brought into commission on 10 January 2012 under the command of then-[[CAPTJG]] James Kratzer by order of [[Bureau of Ships|BuShips]] when {{hms|Reuben James|DD-570}} upgraded itself. The ship has participated in many activities over the years, including [[Shore Leave]] (which hosted the [[TRMN]] Annual Meeting, [[CapitalCon]], as well as being regular attendees at [[MantiCon]] and [[HonorCon]]. Kratzer remained in command for four years, before finally being promoted to commanding [[Battlecruiser Division 111]] on 03 February 2016. Captain Becker took over then and continued operations. It remains one of the few oldest chapters in the Fleet.<br />
