''Barbara Bancroft'' was commissioned on 28 October 2012 under the command of then-[[CAPT]] Keith Manley.<ref name="BSD1210-10">[[BuShips Directive 1210-10]]</ref> The ''Barbara Bancroft'' was assigned to patrol Texas in the United States of America, taking over from {{gns|Hermes|CL-73}} (CL-73). The ship is a frequent attendee of [[Manticon]] and [[Honorcon]] as well as conventions local to its patrol area.

On 4 August 2014 [[CAPTSG]] Jeremy Carsten took command of the ''Barbara Bancroft'' continuing to patrol the Texas area.<ref name="BSD1408-04">[[BuShips Directive 1408-04]]</ref>
