Spacer First Class
Spacer First Class (abbrev: S1C) is an enlisted paygrade within the Royal Manticoran Navy, the Grayson Space Navy, and the Republic of Haven Navy. It holds the equivalent military paygrade of E-3 within The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. and is the higher rank before becoming a non-commissioned officer. A spacer is never referred to by their rank, but rather their rate. So a Environmental Technician who earned their third stripe would not be called "Spacer 1st Class," but rather "Environmental Tech 1st Class."
Honorverse
In peacetime, a Spacer 1st Class would have served at least a Manticoran year, with nine months Time in Grade. The Grayson Space Navy uniform is blue with silver stripes. The Royal Manticoran Navy is black and the color of the stripes change depending on the specialty of the spacer.
TRMN
If the spacer has completed their Basic Enlisted Exam, and served as an Spacer 2nd Class for five months Time in Grade, they are promoted to this rank.
