Kitty Hawk
The Barony of Kitty Hawk is a peerage title awarded by The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc..
Kitty Hawk was created as a title on 16 January 2025 when the Lord Speaker announced the results of the Peerage Court of 2024/25 that Admiral Sir Michael Paquette was created Baron Kitty Hawk.

History and Geography of Kitty Hawk
The Kitty Hawk Barony is located along the southeastern coast of the Tannerman Ocean on the continent of Haley's Land on Sphinx. Along the western edge of the barony is a mountain range that is inhabited by Sphinxian Peak Bears. The area has been arranged as a preserve to protect the bears from hunters. The coastal city and capital city for the barony is a thriving fishing port and ocean shipping. Temperatures for the barony maintain between 0 and 30 degrees Celsius, depending on the season.
Kitty Hawk House
Kitty Hawk House is the primary governmental seat of Kitty Hawk Barony, along with primary residence of Baron Kitty Hawk and family. Kitty Hawk House is a direct representation of the Last Lonely House from Rivendell of the JRR Tolkien books "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy". The specific rendition of the Last Lonely House is from the Lord of the Rings Online video game of Old Earth. Kitty Hawk Barony was able to acquire authorization to recreate the building, honoring the original author and the artistic representations of the dwelling.
Munjoy Hill Observatory
The Kitty Hawk Barony maintains a large observatory to study and search for additional gravimetric anomalies throughout the Manticore Binary System. The Observatory employs some of the brightest minds for astrophysics and astrometrisc. The Observatory also receives several large grants from the Crown to continue studies of the multiple wormholes in the system, plus continue searches for potential new wormholes in the system.
Kitty Hawk Library
A barony priority is literacy. As such, the barony holds a 99% literacy rate. The Kitty Hawk Library holds several hundred thousand paper copies of books, plus multiple zettabytes of digital data. Media data dates back to what is referred to as "black and white" motion pictures and music from early old Earth recordings, each is maintained and curated by centuries, then decades within each century of data. The library also maintains numerous exhibits at the library with artifacts and preserved memorabilia.
New Deering Aerospace Corporation (NDAC)
NDAC is one of the premier aerospace engineering corps in Manticoran Binary system. NDAC currently runs multiple contracts with the Royal Manticoran Army for armored air cars and transports for atmospheric travel. NDAC sponsors the annual Kitty Hawk Aerospace Celebration.
Kitty Hawk Civil Air Group
This organization provides search and rescue (SAR) for the Barony and surrounding territory and is a voluntary organization for members. The organization has 10 atmospheric SAR aircraft assigned for usage by pilot certified members. Flight, flight training, and maintenance costs are free to members. This organization additionally promotes the education and training of children in aerospace fundamentals and leadership, by maintaining a cadet program for children ages 11-18, run by the cadets, but overseen by adult members.
Bear Claw Tavern
So named for the claw marks of a Sphinxian Peak Bear in the rustic wood wall that adorn the inside of this well attended tavern. The tavern maintains a stock of multiple beers, ales, and ciders from around the binary system. On tap are more than 50 beverages. The food is rustic, hearty and very tasty.
Annual Events
Kitty Hawk Aerospace Celebration
Each year on the anniversary of the first flight by the Wright Brothers in Kittyhawk, NC on 17 December (Old Earth Calendar) the New Deering Aerospace Corporation sponsors the Kitty Hawk Aerospace Celebration and competition. This competition is to provide new innovations in aerospace performance and innovation. Previous winners have earned grants to further develop technologies to advance both atmospheric and exo-atmospheric travel.
Seafood Festival
Sphinxian seafood has been found to be some of the best in the Manticore Binary System. As such, each year in the summer, the Kitty Hawk Barony hosts a seafood festival to challenge the best chef's in the system to elevate the usage and creation of seafood delicacies.
