Naval Directive 17APR-05 was issued 24 April 2017 under the authority of the First Space Lord.

Order Text

To:	All Officers and Enlisted in the Royal Manticoran Navy, all Officers and Enlisted in the Grayson Space Navy, and all Members of the Grand Alliance
From:	John Roberts, Fleet Admiral of the Red
Re:	Clarification as to who may wear the Fleet Shoulder Patches (ND 17APR-05)

As of the date of this Order, by my hand, and by the authority of the Sovereign, Queen of Manticore, Elizabeth III, I hereby issue the following Order clarifying who may wear the Fleet Staff Shoulder Patches on their uniform. These patches may be worn by the following personnel:

1. Fleet command triads (Fleet CO, Fleet DCO/XO, Fleet Bosun);
2. Fleet CO can grant the right to wear to other members of their staff on an individual or collective basis;
3. LAC crews may wear the Fleet Patch on their uniforms as they are not officially attached to any ship which would have a separate ship patch; and/or,
4. Fleet COs can allow the crews of ships in their fleet to wear fleet patches informally (e.g. on t-shirts or day jackets) if they chose to do so.

This order made under my hand will be effective 0001 hours 24-APR-17
