Naval Directive 16AU-04 was issued 23 August 2016 under the authority of the First Space Lord. This order appoints a new Fleet Commander for Sixth Fleet, and names the outgoing Fleet Commander as a Companion in the Most Honorable Order of King Roger.

As of the date of this Order, by my hand, and by the authority of the Sovereign Queen of Manticore, Elizabeth III, a Change of Command is made to Sixth Fleet, currently under the command of Rear Admiral Melyssa Smith to consist of:
As of this date, Commodore Ashley Nichols is ordered and required to assume the duties of Sixth Fleet Commander due to the relocation of Rear Admiral Smith outside the Sixth Fleet’s area of operations.
Commodore Nichols is also here by promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral of the Red as a result of his new responsibilities.
I do hereby direct all officers herein named to take charge of their commands and proceed to their assigned patrol area and protect the lives and property of Manticoran citizens therein. In addition you will fulfill any other duties as may be assigned by the First Space Lord.
ADDITIONALLY, in recognition of the manner and reliability of her service as Sixth Fleet Commander, it my pleasure to announce that the First Lord of the Admiralty, acting on behalf of the Sovereign, has named Rear Admiral Melyssa Smith as a Companion, Most Honorable Order of king Roger. She is now entitled to all the rights, privileges and responsibilities appertaining thereunto, and is authorized the post nominals “CR.”
This order made under my hand will be effective 0001 hours 23-AUG-16.
