In the Honorverse, a Light Freighter is a small hyper-capable cargo vessel. Sizes start at about 1 million tons.
Use in TRMN
In The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN), a Light Freighter is a type of Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine ship chapter. The minimum crew size is 6, of which 2 must be officers. One officer must hold a licenses as Master and the second hold a license as Chief Engineer. This size chapter also must have a Certified Bosun.
A Light Freighter can have a maximum crew of 25 and can carry 10 passengers. This chapter may also have one Inter-System Shuttle associated with it.
