Re: Formal Establishment of the Civilian Pin Award for Members of the Diplomatic Corps and the Crown Intelligence Service

The ‘Civilian Pin’ award is hereby formally established as authorised by the Home Secretary and effective of its date of establishment 09th January 2019.

The Civilian Pin is the comparable to the military Space Warfare Pin, (“SWP”) offered to the RMN and RMMC branches, and is included as the alternative option for non-uniformed civilians in the Black Sphinx Cup Challenge.

Civilian Pin

The Civilian Pin is awarded to members of either the Diplomatic Corps (CIVIL DIP) or the Crown Intelligence Service (CIV INTEL) who have completed a rigorous set of qualifying courses.

The Civilian Pin has two distinct levels: the ‘Accredited Staff Member Pin’ or ‘ASM’ and ‘Chartered Staff Member Pin’ or ‘CSM’.

‘Accredited Staff Member’ or ‘ASM’ The ‘Accredited Staff Member Pin’ or ‘ASM’ is awarded to non-uniformed members who have attained the civilian rank of C1 through to C11 (Junior to Senior Civil Servant.)

‘Chartered Staff Member’ or ‘CSM’ The Chartered Staff Member’ or ‘CSM’ is awarded to non-uniformed civilian members who have attained the civilian rank of C12 and above (Junior Minister to Minister).

Junior and Senior Civil Servants may complete the academic qualifications for this pin, they may not wear it until they have achieved the paygrade of C12.

Recognition Once all the requisite courses have been completed – the student will download and complete the appropriate pdf and sent as an attachment to the Regent – Star Kingdom University.

Recipients of the Civilian Pin Award will be announced bi-monthly by the Home Secretary. [See Home Office Informational Bulletin 002-19]
