HMS Demon (CLAC-62) is a Hydra-class Carrier, Light Attack Craft based in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area including Northwest Indiana and assigned to Second Fleet. Commanded by CAPTSG Geoffrey Strayer KDE, SC, CGM, RMN, Demon uses Oak Forest, IL as its Charter City. Demon is the Flag Ship of Task Force 22 and carries LAC Wing 62, currently comprising all of TF22's Light Attack Craft..

History

Demon was commissioned on 31 March 2016 under the command of Captain (SG) Sherman Day, by order of BuShips. The commissioning ceremony was held on 10 April 2016 at the Time Travelled Toy Show in Oak Forest, Il while 'Showing the Flag’ at a Fan Table, Demonstrating X-Wing Fighter with its game play.

Demon's crew was formerly assigned to two light cruisers, the Valiant-class HMS Gallant commanded by then- CAPTJG Sherman Day, and the Apollo-class HMS Odin, commanded by then-CDR Geoff Strayer, RMN, which were both part of LCruDiv 651 under the command of Captain Day.

Since launching, HMS Demon's operations have included 'Showing the Flag’ at a regional toy shows, and traveling to Indianapolis to host a fan table at InConJunction 2016. She continued on to win ‘Best Party’ and 'Best Non-Alcoholic Drink’ at WindyCon 2016.
