HMS Broadsword (CA-47)

HMS Broadsword’’’ (CA-47) is a Broadsword-class Heavy Cruiser within Eighth Fleet. Commanded by CAPTJG Rose Collins, ‘’Broadsword’’ claims Buckeye, Arizona as her charter city, and serves Arizona as its operating area.

History

‘’Broadsword’’ was first brought into commission in Sixth Fleet on 12 April 2012 under the command of then-CAPTJG David Bailey by BuShips Directive 1204-02. HMS Launched its first Pinnace on 23 August 2012 BuShips Directive 1208-04

‘’Broadsword’’ decommissioned and went to Active Reserve status in 2 October 2015 until its recommissioning in Eighth Fleet on 22 April 2017, when CAPTJG Rose Collins launched the [Broadsword] with 15 members from the Phoenix area.

The ship has participated in many activities over the years, typically the convention circuit around the Phoenix, AZ area.
