GNS Mercy (DD-43)

GNS Mercy (DD-43) is a Joshua-class Destroyer in Fourth Fleet. Commanded by LCDR David Thompson, RMN, Mercy is a chapter that patrols South England and East Anglia. It has a forum section here. It has a facebook group here.

History

Mercy was commissioned on 24 January 2014 under the command of then LCDR Ian Tregale. The Mercy was originally assigned to patrol the South East of England, this was amended with the launch of GNS Paul of Tarsus to be South England and East Anglia. The ship is a frequent attendee of EasterCon as well as conventions local to its patrol area.

The ship was decommissioned on 30 November 2016 for failure of the command triad to complete their rank courses. This was recommissioned under then-CAPT Lord Martyn Griffiths, GSN, on 7 December 2016 with all the old crew re-joining the ship.

The Mercy was originally a part of DesDiv 413 but was later moved to DesDiv 414, which sits under DesRon 41 as a part of 4th Fleet.
