BuShips Directive 1809-06 was issued 10 September 2018 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive changes command for GNS Covington (CLAC-01).

Captain Matheny:
You are hereby directed and required to stand down from your present assignment and proceed aboard GNS Covington (CLAC-01), there to take upon yourself the duties and responsibilities of Commanding Officer, relieving CAPT David Sanders, SC, OG, GS, GSN, in service to the Protector. Fail not in this charge at your peril.
The Bureau of Ships wishes to thank and acknowledge the service of CAPT Sanders as the outgoing Commanding Officer of GNS Covington.
