Re: Dual Ranks – Revised (Admiralty Order 1503-03)

As of the date of this Order, Admiralty Order 1312-01 is rescinded and replaced. Due to the nature of The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Fan Association, Inc., it will occasionally happen that members wind up holding roles in two specific divisions of the organization as outlined below. When this occurs, they may be awarded a rank in both as well, and while, it would be normal for those ranks to be equal, they may not always be. These will be the only dual ranks permitted.

This is only valid for Merchant Marines who are required to hold same or higher rank in the RMN, and RMN members seconded to civilian duties in the Diplomatic or Intelligence Corps. When this occurs, the member may keep both ranks, but must designate their RMN one as Reserve with a (R) after their division in the following manner:

RMN(R)

Your affiliation with one group or another will not be a bar to service with another. For example, the JAG is a Marine, and yet is in a Naval Billet.

Additionally, this is no longer a bar from holding any position within the organization unless specifically stated in a manual or order. This applies to Command Crews for Ships as well. An RMN member may command a GSN ship and vice versa, although it is not prefered.

Any questions on this Admiralty Order should be addressed to the Office of the First Lord of the Admiralty.
