Buplan Directive 1612-02 was issued 13 December 2016 under the authority of the Second Space Lord. It creates the Agent positions in the Bureau of Planning.

On behalf of the Second Space Lord of the Royal Manticoran Navy, Rear Admiral of the Green Dame Diane Bulkeley, MC, CR, SC, DSO, Countess New Essex, it is my duty to announce openings in the Intelligence Department within the Bureau of Planning for the positions of Intelligence Agents. Applications will remain open until the positions are filled, and are open to any member in any branch of service.
Intelligence Agents will report to the Bureau’s Staff Intelligence Officer CDR Jamison Silinsky and gather information on conventions and events in their designated areas. Agents are assigned based on Fleets and proximity, with some Fleets with large geographic areas potentially needing multiple Agents. They will work with the Fleet Intelligence Officers for their fleet in gathering information related to conventions and TRMN presence in their area.
An Agent may be from any Allied branch of service (including the Civilian service) and has the option to be either Enlisted starting at the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8), or an Officer starting at the rank of Ensign (O-1), or equivalent branch rank. Applicants can work out their desired path with the Chief of Staff and the Staff Intelligence Officer.
A candidate must meet the following basic requirements: 1. Be a member in good standing in TRMN in any branch of service 2. Have completed the SIA-RMN-0004 or SIA-RMN-0101 exam or branch-equivalent testing, or agree to commit to testing before taking on the role 3. Be in compliance with the Two Hat Rule (AO 1602-02)
