Crest Heraldry Information, as explained by Sir Thomas Marrone:

Red, Blue, and Green fields represent the following:
- Red: Royal Manticoran Navy
- Blue: Grayson Space Navy
- Green: Harrington Steading
The Medusa's Head, with missiles in lieu of snake heads for the hair. The slight green hue of the skin is deliberate, representing the Medusa of myth, who held the same hue to her skin.
The Eyepatch represents the trauma sustained by Honor Harrington in defense of the Protector and his family.
The Ship's Motto is the oft-repeated phrase of Honor herself.
