Army Directive 2111-13 was issued 16 December 2021 under the authority of the Marshal of the Army. It updated the paygrades of the top Non-commissioned officers of the RMA.

I hereby direct that the enlisted paygrades within the Royal Manticoran Army be capped at E-10. This changes the previous structure of Regimental Sergeant Major (E-10), Command Sergeant Major (E-11), and Sergeant Major of the Army (E-12). This directive is meant to better reflect the current practice of the organization.
The new structure is as follows:

Command Sergeant Major (E-10)
Sergeant Major of the Army (E-10)
No changes are being made to the requirements or duties relating to these positions at this time.
