In the Honorverse, a Heavy Freighter is a hyper-capable cargo vessel. Heavy Freighters range in size up to 8.5 million tons.

Use in TRMN

In The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN), a Heavy Freighter is hyper-capable Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine ship chapter. The minimum crew size is 10, of which 3 must be officers. One officer must hold a licenses as Master and the second hold a license as Chief Engineer. This size chapter also must have a Certified Bosun. A Heavy Freighter can have a maximum crew of 35 and can carry 20 passengers. This chapter may also have three Inter-System Shuttles associated with it.
