In 2025,<ref>[[Army Directive 2504-01]]</ref> the position of Army Chief of Staff was reintroduced, replacing the Adjutant General's duties of staff management, with the Adjutant General's duties focused on personnel matters.

The Army [[Chief of Staff]] reports to the Marshal of the Army and manages the [[Adjutant General]] Corps, the Intelligence Corps, Signal Corps, and Logistics Corps.

Duties include:

*Staff administration and supervision.
*Acts as the initial contact point for chapter and echelon-related inquiries from RMA members.
*Provides support, guidance, and directs members to appropriate departments.
*Oversees role-playing operations, coordinates with BuShips in echelon formations, and report processing.
*Supports recruitment and staffing activities for the Royal Manticoran Army.

===Deputy Chief of Staff===
Formerly, the [[Royal Manticoran Army]] (RMA) Chief of Staff was the second-in-command of the RMA under the [[Marshal of the Army]], acting in the Marshal's place if the Marshal was unable to fulfill their duties. The Chief of Staff oversaw Deputy Chiefs of Staff who had administrative functions parallel to the [[Space Lord]]s. <ref>[[Army Directive 05-1204]] defines the Army Chief of Staff's duties</ref>.

In 2012, [[Army Directive 05-1203A]] established the following:
